A Lesson in Nature (run by Louis Spence) and I have teamed up to deliver a pottery workshop. The workshop will give an introduction into wild clay and making-artefacts from clay we can source and dig up.

This workshop gives participants a chance to process raw materials and refine them into a very workable clay body. We then plan and make our own pieces, touching on slab techniques, hand building techniques and coil techniques. The clay will have the chance to dry during our break, when we return we can decorate and embellish our pieces using carving techniques.

The pottery will be ready for collection 2 weeks later, after it has had a chance to dry and it has been Raku fired with ash to support a sealing glaze, pieces can be collected from the Museum of Futures.
